Kimberly A. Smith, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s School of Medicine. Smith is also the Director of Evaluation with the UAB Center for Clinical and Translational Science and the Director of Research Development and Analytics with the Coach Safely Foundation. Dr. Smith joined UAB from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned her Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Research, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Research Studies, also from the University of Southern Mississippi; a master’s in Human Performance with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from the University of Alabama; and a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Health Promotion from the University of Montevallo. Smith also recently became a member of the NSCA's Executive Council for the Long-Term Athletic Development Special Interest Group.
