PhD Student/Graduate Assistant
The University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa
My name is Andrew Fields, and I am a 2nd-year Ph.D. student in Kinesiology at the University of Alabama. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska - Kearney where I ran cross-country and track for four years. My passion for endurance performance began there and thrived throughout my Master's in Human Performance at Liberty University. It was there that I decided to focus my energy on pursuing a career in academia and research, and I was given the opportunity to attend the University of Alabama. My primary research interest lies in validating and applying mechanical power as a performance and training metric for endurance running. Other interests include the use of HRV for assessing recovery and performance adaptation, psychophysiological responses to competitive environments during aerobic performance, and elite endurance performance.
