Matt S. Stock is a tenured Associate Professor in the School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy at the University of Central Florida. Stock serves as Director of the Institute of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation Science, as well as the Neuromuscular Plasticity Laboratory. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma. Stock’s research interests involve understanding the neuromuscular adaptations associated with aging, sarcopenia, resistance training, and disuse. Studies in his laboratory utilize electromyography, motor unit recordings, transcranial magnetic stimulation, twitch interpolation, B-mode ultrasonography, and muscle strength assessments. Stock is an active member of International Society of Electrophysiology and Kinesiology, the American Physiological Society, and the NSCA, while serving as an Editor of Experimental Gerontology and the JSCR. He has served in leadership roles for several organizations, including serving as President of the NSCA Foundation. He enjoys spending time in the laboratory while working with students on their research projects.
