After graduating with his Master's degree in sports sciences from the Paris Descartes University, Frederick Henderson worked for several years as a strength and conditioning coach both in Canada and France. Being confronted to the challenge of return to sport after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) in his athletes, Frederick decided to engage in research to provide training solutions for athletes with ACLR. Supported by a scholarship from the Japanese governement, he successfully completed his PhD at the Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences (OUHS) in March 2023. During his time at OUHS, Frederick also served as the S&C coach for the men handball club where he reached the playoffs each year, including a national title in 2018 and finals appearance in 2021. Frederick now works as a researcher at the Japan Institute of Sports Sciences in Tokyo where he supports Olympic and Paralympic athletes in their training.
