Kelley Hammond, PhD, CSCS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Exercise Science and Pre-Health Professions at Creighton University. Dr. Hammond studied muscle biology in Parkinson’s disease and earned her doctorate in Rehabilitation Science from the UAB (2017). She completed postdoctoral training at UNLV where she studied the effects of crush injury and simulated air travel on skeletal muscle regeneration in rodent models. Hammond attended Creighton University for undergraduate studies, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2008. She earned her MS in Human Movement Science (2010) and then taught in the Department of Health & Sports Science at the University of Memphis for two years before working as a research assistant at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for a year. Her research interests vary around skeletal muscle physiology in special populations (Parkinson's disease), aging adults, and athletes.
