Christine Florez is a recent graduate from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB, Belton, TX) where she earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in exercise physiology. Prior to her academic pursuits, she served in the U.S. Army where she received several accolades for her service and completed one tour in Iraq as a combat medic. Since returning to school, she has worked as a research assistant in the Human Performance Lab at UMHB. Her research interests include exploring the benefits of resistance training in women for the prevention and mitigation of negative health outcomes associated with menopause, body recomposition strategies, body compostion methodologies, and muscle physiology. Christine has presented research projects at several national conferences and has plans to pursue a PhD in Kinesiology at Texas Tech University. Apart from research, she is a mom, a powerlifter, and is a certified sports nutritionist (CISSN).
