Megan Sax van der Weyden (MS, CSCS, TSAC-F) is a doctoral student, Dean’s Scholar, and a graduate research assistant at George Mason University. Megan is also a U.S. Army Second Lieutenant (2LT) currently on an education delay to pursue advanced degrees in the field of Kinesiology. She works in the Sports Medicine Assessment, Research, and Testing (SMART) Laboratory where her research goal is to identify the individual characteristics and mission factors that influence physical and cognitive responses to military occupational stressors. Ultimately, her goal is to develop regression and machine learning models to predict performance, fatigue, and recovery. Megan has experience as a D1 athlete, Army Officer, and strength and conditioning intern with Baylor Athletics. Additionally, she has been a first author on several peer-reviewed manuscripts and conference presentations.
