Dr Lachlan James is a lecturer and researcher in strength and conditioning within the Sport and Exercise Science discipline at La Trobe University, Australia. In this role he also consults with several elite and sub-elite sporting organisations. He has master’s degrees in Sports Coaching and Strength and Conditioning, and completed his PhD in 2017 at the University of Queensland investigating mixed martial arts (MMA) athletes. He has over 15 years of professional practice in strength and conditioning and applied sports science and published 24 academic journal articles (19 first author) and a further 2 first author editorial/book chapters. Dr James’ research interests include strength-power development, periodization and training theory, and collision and combat sports.
