My name is Brittany Pennock, I have an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario and I am currently enrolled in my first year of my Masters of Science in Kinesiology degree, also at Lakehead University. My undergraduate thesis research focused on the analysis of gait characteristics during tasks involving texting while walking. This research was published in the journal of Public Health Research 2016, 6(3): 77-82. My Master's thesis focuses on the influence of potential risk factors on concussion risk in female ice hockey players. Specifically, we hope to investigate the influence of neck strength, head impact location, and injury mechanism on the linear and angular accelerations of the head, as well as injury severity, via head impact simulations. I am very physically active and sports-oriented, so I have developed a great interest and passion in research related to sport and physical activity.
